The Christos Capralos museum, lies on the northwestern side of Aegina,
on the coastal road. Outside the museum, next to the seashore stands
the bronze statue of the Greek Mother to welcome you.
You can get to the museum straight from the harbour by following
the coastal road, a very pleasant walk (3 km).
The artist's work, accomplised in Aegina during the summers from
1963 up to 1993, is exhibited in the six workshops of the museum.
During the winter months he worked in his workshop in Athens on bronze,
pieces casting them in his own foundry.

The works exhibited in the museum are of marble, Aeginean porous stone
and wood; there are also exhibits of paintings, terracotta and ceramics.
Christos Capralos studied painting at the Higher School of Fine Arts
in Athens and sculpture in Paris during the years 1934 - 1940.
Christos Capralos's works is world - wide known. Certain of his works
are to be found in Museums in the U.S.A and in private collections
in Europe and America. The artist held exhibitions in various European
Countries, in the U.S.A., Canada and Japan. In 1962 he represented
Greece at the Venice Biennale.
All his work he bequeathed to the Greek people by founding the Chr.
and S. Capralos foundation.
In addition to the Capralos Msuem of Aegina there is also a smaller
one at his birthplace in Agrinion (Mid-West Greece), wherein the bronze
works he created during the years 1940 - 1952 are exhibited.
