Animal Respect

Animal Respect is a group of volunteers that works hard and tries to take care of abandoned and injured cats and dogs found on the streets of Aegina.

Since 2001 Animal Respect has a dogshelter where they take care of about 100 dogs and they feed on a regular basis cats and dogs abandoned on the street.

There are wonderful dogs waiting for adoption. If you feel you can offer a good home get in touch with Animal Respect or have a look at the website (written in German).

This work it funded entirely through private donations. The only contribution the municipality makes is the supply of fresh drinking water for the animals in the shelter.

If you feel you can support this important animal welfare work you can either visit their information centre/ charity shop in the centre of Aegina Town (which is open every morning during the week) or send a donation.

The cost of a ticket from Aghia Marina to Aegina Town
is € 1.41. The lenght of the trip is between 25 and 30 minutes. The first bus leaves from Aghia Marina to Aegina Town at 07:00 and the last bus that goes
back to Aghia Marina from Aegina Town leaves at 19:45.

The bus terminal in Aegina town is situated in the square near the harbour, where you can puchase tickets from the information booth.
