Click here for more information about this bus. The price of the ticket is € 3.10 (At night the price can be slightly more) and is valid for 24 hours. You may use this ticket on the bus, trolley bus or the metro. The trip will take from 60 minutes to 1 1/4 hour depending on the traffic! At the airport you can buy the ticket at the small ticket office located next to the bus stop. In Piraeus you buy the ticket also at the ticket office next to the busstop. After you have bought the ticket you have to put it in the ticketmachines in the bus to print a date on it. Taxi You can also take a taxi from the airport to Piraeus. When leaving the airport, please make use of the taxi queue next to Door 3 of the Arrivals Level. Taking a taxi is mostly quicker than the bus (of course dependent on the traffic). Some drivers do the ride in 30 minutes! The price will be about € 30 - € 35- . The starting price with toll fee is between € 0.75 and € 2.94. At night the charge is higher. Click here for the indicative taxi charges. Rent a car You may also rent a car at the airport and drive to the Piraeus port. The earlier you book the better the prices. To rent a car at the airport is a good option if you also plan to visit the Peleponese after or before you visit Aegina. There is a good boat connection between Methana (on the Peleponese) and Aegina. |

When you have driven through Italy, you can take from there a ferry to Greece. The established Patras - Igoumenitsa - Corfu - Brindisi line, has already been operating for almost thirty years, uniting Greece to Central Europe and the Scandinavian countries. It acts as a "bridge" which several millions people pass every year, while in the last years the line has been enriched with departures from more Italian ports, such as Bari, Ancona, Venice and Trieste. Patras is the central port for communication with Italy, via the islands of the Ionian. It will take about 4 hours to drive from Patras to Piraeus, where you can take the ferry to Aegina island.
